Quicksilver Messenger Service – Happy Trails (VG/VG+) – LP, AU 1969

Happy Trails is an LP by Quicksilver Messenger Service from 1969 released on the Capitol Records label.

About this album

Happy Trails is a ferocious live statement that cemented Quicksilver Messenger Service as one of the West Coast psychedelic era’s most distinctive bands. Released in 1969, the album captures the group in extended, improvisational form, moving freely between acid rock, blues, country and rhythm and blues. Its centrepiece jams and loose, exploratory energy turned familiar songs into something restless and expansive, with the band’s twin-guitar interplay driving the performance. The record became one of the key documents of Bay Area psychedelia and remains widely regarded as an essential live album from the late 1960s rock underground.
