Graffiti Bridge is an LP by Prince from 1990 released on the Paisley Park, Warner Bros. Records label.
About this album
Graffiti Bridge extends Prince’s late-’80s funk-pop vision with sharp synth textures, elastic grooves and a restless mix of studio polish and improvisation. Released in 1990 as the soundtrack companion to his film project of the same name, it finds him folding together synth-pop, funk and P.Funk influences while pushing the New Power Generation sound further into the foreground. Songs such as “Thieves in the Temple” helped keep Prince commercially visible at the start of the decade, and the album’s blend of sleek hooks, dense rhythm work and playful experimentation shows why his early-’90s output remains such a distinctive chapter in his catalogue.
