    Around The World In A Day finds Prince And The Revolution deliberately sidestepping the blockbuster formulas of Purple Rain and opening out into psychedelic pop, funk and pop rock. Released in 1985, the album was a striking left turn for Prince, blending surreal lyrics, layered harmonies and bright, experimental textures into a more playful but still tightly controlled sound. Led by the hit Raspberry Beret and the title track, it became an important statement of artistic independence and helped broaden his reputation beyond mainstream pop stardom. The record remains one of the key chapters in Prince’s mid-1980s run.
