About this album

Relics is a valuable early Pink Floyd compilation that gathers singles, B-sides and album tracks from the band’s psychedelic breakthrough years. Issued in 1971, it brings together landmarks such as Arnold Layne, See Emily Play, Interstellar Overdrive and Bike, showing the leap from Syd Barrett’s whimsical pop to the more exploratory, experimental sound that followed. Rather than a neat career overview, it offers a revealing snapshot of Pink Floyd in transition, with material that helped define their reputation for imagination, abstraction and studio adventure. For listeners tracing the band’s earliest evolution, it remains an important entry point.
