Pet Shop Boys – Actually (VG+/VG+) – LP, UK 1987

Actually is an LP by Pet Shop Boys from 1987 released on the Parlophone label.

About this album

Actually is the Pet Shop Boys at their most assured, turning sleek synth-pop into a smart, commercially unstoppable statement. Their second album, released in 1987, followed the breakthrough success of Please and confirmed Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe as masters of wry, emotionally precise pop. Produced with their clean, polished studio approach, the record includes defining singles such as “It’s a Sin”, “What Have I Done to Deserve This?” and “Rent”, songs that combined nightclub rhythm, social observation and melancholy hooks. Its blend of wit, drama and chart-ready songwriting helped make the duo one of the most distinctive acts of the 1980s.
