Olivia Dean – Live At Eventim Apollo (2xLP)

Olivia Dean's Live at Eventim Apollo captures the second night of her three-night sold-out run at London’s Eventim Apollo in May 2024, a clear marker of how quickly her soulful, conversational pop had outgrown the club circuit. Issued later that year as a 2xLP set, it documents a show built from the songs that established Dean as one of the most distinctive new British voices of the 2020s.

Rather than a stopgap live release, this plays like a generous snapshot of her catalogue in motion. The set draws heavily on the material around Messy, the 2023 debut that reached the UK Top 10 and earned a Mercury Prize nomination, while also showing how naturally those songs open up on stage. Tracks including “Dive,” “The Hardest Part” and “Touching Toes” gain extra sweep in front of an audience, and the sequencing lets her move easily between intimacy, warmth and a more full-bodied soul-pop lift.

What comes through most is Dean’s balance of precision and ease. Across 20 performances, Live at Eventim Apollo underlines the strength of her songwriting as much as her voice, turning personal songs into something shared without sanding away their detail. For anyone coming to Olivia Dean through the studio records, this is a useful reminder that her music was built to connect in a room.
