"FATHERS" is an extraordinary new collective featuring producer Kenny Beats, keyboardist Kiefer, bassist CARRTOONS, and drummer Nate Smith. On their Blue Note debut, they blend the openness of jazz with hip-hop, funk, soul, and electronic influences to create a sound that is as virtuosic as it is accessible. Born out of a collaboration at the 2023 Montreal Jazz Festival and further developed during joint tours through the U.S. and Japan, “FATHERS” thrives on the creative chemistry of its members. The result is eight songs full of precise grooves, strong melodies, and tasteful arrangements that combine musical sophistication with immediate accessibility.
