My Chemical Romance – The Black Parade (2xLP, One-step, 20th Anniversary Edition)

My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade arrived in October 2006 as the band's third album, turning their taste for drama into a full concept record built around The Patient, a dying central character reflecting on life, death, and the afterlife. It sold more than 300,000 copies worldwide in its first week, and its scale still explains why songs like “Welcome to the Black Parade,” “Cancer,” and “Famous Last Words” remain so central to the band's story.

The album's appeal is in how theatrical it is without losing its emotional pull: sharp pop-punk, glam-rock swagger, piano-led grandeur, and a running sense of narrative all sit together naturally. It also marked a key point in My Chemical Romance's catalogue, following Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and helping define the wider emo generation, while the album's success encouraged the band to build another narrative-driven world on 2010's Danger Days.

This 20th anniversary edition adds a live recording of “Someone Out There Loves You,” captured at Maxwell's in Hoboken on October 24, 2007. Just as importantly for vinyl listeners, the original album has been spread across four sides for improved sound, with Chris Bellman mastering from the original analog tapes and RTI handling the One-Step pressing.
