About this album
Muddy Waters At Newport 1960 is a landmark live document of electric Chicago blues at full force. Recorded at the 1960 Newport Folk Festival, it captures Waters turning a major folk audience on to the raw power of his amplified band, with the set built around staples like I’m Your Hoochie Koochie Man and Got My Mojo Working. The performance helped reinforce Waters’ status as a foundational blues innovator and showed how deeply his sound shaped later rock music. Fierce, direct and influential, it remains one of the clearest statements of his live authority.
