Originally released in June 1985, Mötley Crüe's third studio album "Theatre of Pain" heralded a bold new sound and look while retaining the band's trademark hard rock intensity. This trendsetting album shaped the style and music of many bands that followed, while the Crüe themselves continued to evolve their look and sound with each album.
"Theatre Of Pain" was the first Crüe album to make it into the US Top 10, reaching #6. It was also a real worldwide hit, reaching #7 in Australia, #7 in Sweden, #5 in Finland, #11 in Canada and was their first album in the UK Top 40 (#36). The album is currently certified quadruple platinum in the USA and triple platinum in Canada by the RIAA.
The tour has taken them around the world: Japan, USA, Canada, Germany, France, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. The breakthrough video for their cult track 'Home Sweet Home' was the most requested number 1 for over 90 days, prompting MTV to introduce the 'Crüe Rule', whereby a video was only eligible for the wish list for 30 days!
