Third Eye is an LP by Monsoon from 1983 released on the The Mobile Suit Corporation label.
About this album
Third Eye is Monsoon’s most ambitious statement, fusing early-80s synth-pop with Indian musical colours and a broader rock sensibility. Released in 1983, the album built on the group’s earlier breakthrough while pushing further into cross-cultural pop experimentation. Fronted by Sheila Chandra, Monsoon combined electronic textures, melodic hooks and rhythmic detail with a distinctive East-meets-West identity that set them apart from many of their contemporaries. The record includes the group’s reworked take on Ever So Lonely alongside material that shows how confidently they moved between pop immediacy and global influences, making Third Eye an important part of Britain’s early world-pop crossover story.
