Perfect Angel is an LP by Minnie Riperton from 1974 released on the Epic label.

About this album

Perfect Angel is Minnie Riperton’s breakthrough album and a high point of 1970s soul. Released in 1974, it brought together her extraordinary five-octave voice with elegant writing and polished studio craft, moving easily between soul, funk and jazz-inflected arrangements. The record’s centrepiece, Lovin’ You, became a defining hit and helped make Riperton a singular presence in popular music, while songs such as Reasons and Perfect Angel underline the album’s mix of intimacy, melodic grace and quiet sophistication. Its lasting reputation rests on the way it balances mainstream appeal with uncommon vocal artistry.
