The Man With The Horn is an LP by Miles Davis from 1981 released on the CBS/Sony label.
About this album
The Man With the Horn is Miles Davis’s bold comeback album, reintroducing him after a five-year retreat from recording. Released in 1981, it pairs his unmistakable trumpet with a tight, contemporary fusion and jazz-funk sound that points towards the style he would develop through the 1980s. The album’s leaner, more groove-led approach made it a key statement in Davis’s late-career revival, with Fat Time and Back Seat Betty showing how sharply he could still command an electric band. It is widely regarded as the record that announced Miles Davis was back in full force.
