    About this album

    On The Corner is one of Miles Davis’s most radical and influential early-1970s albums, pushing jazz into dense funk, studio collage and electric improvisation. Released in 1972, it emerged from the same experimental period that produced Bitches Brew, with Davis working alongside producer Teo Macero and a large cast of players including drummer Jack DeJohnette and bassist Michael Henderson. Rather than aiming for polished jazz-fusion, the album builds a restless, looping groove that drew from Black American street music as much as it did from jazz tradition. Initially divisive, it is now widely regarded as a landmark in forward-thinking modern music.
