Kind Of Blue – Miles Davis
Should there ever be a question about the best-known of all jazz albums on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire", this Miles Davis album from 1959 is a sure candidate. Which other jazz album have entire books been written about and which other album is available in so many editions.
The band hadn't played through a single piece when Davis asked the band to enter the studio. Maybe jazz heavyweights like John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Cannonball Adderly, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb didn't have to. Davis, on the other hand, remained true to his reputation as an eccentric and described this album as a failure.
