    Decoy is a lean, restless Miles Davis album that pushes his 1980s electric style towards sharper electronic textures and tauter grooves. Issued in 1984, it followed the bandleader’s return to recording after a long hiatus and reflects the synthesiser-led fusion sound he developed with younger players in the early 1980s. Built around edgy interplay and spare, rhythmic momentum, the album shows Davis treating jazz, funk and electro as one volatile language rather than separate genres. While not as celebrated as his classic 1960s work, Decoy is an important document of how he kept reinventing his sound late in his career.
