    Walkin' is a landmark Miles Davis All Stars compilation that helped define hard bop’s leaner, cooler edge. Drawn from 1954-55 sessions and issued in 1957, it captures Davis in a transitional period as he moved away from the lush Birth of the Cool sound toward a harder, more incisive band language. The title track became one of his signature statements, while pieces like Blue N' Boogie and Solar show the confident interplay of a small group working with clarity, space and rhythmic lift. It remains one of the key documents in Davis’s early ascent and in the formation of modern jazz style.
