Dead Ringer is an LP by Meat Loaf from 1981 released on the Cleveland International Records, Epic label.
About this album
Dead Ringer is a bombastic hard-rock statement that carries forward the theatrical scale of Meat Loaf’s breakthrough while sharpening the hooks and drama. Released in 1981, the album reunited him with Jim Steinman, whose elaborate songs and outsized arrangements helped define the record’s grand, over-the-top character. Built around powerful vocals, heavy riffs and sung-to-the-rafters choruses, it includes fan favourites such as Dead Ringer for Love and Read ’Em and Weep. The album reinforced Meat Loaf’s reputation for rock opera excess and showed that his larger-than-life style could thrive beyond Bat Out of Hell.
