Bat Out of Hell is Meat Loaf’s grand, over-the-top breakthrough, turning theatrical rock into a mainstream phenomenon. Written by Jim Steinman and produced with Todd Rundgren, the 1977 album fused hard rock, musical theatre drama and irresistible melody on songs such as the title track, You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth and Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad.
