Marvin Gaye – Midnight Love (E/E) – LP, JP 1982, No OBI

Midnight Love is an LP by Marvin Gaye from 1982 released on the CBS/Sony label.

About this album

Midnight Love marked a vital late-career comeback for Marvin Gaye, recasting his music for the early 1980s without losing its emotional core. Issued in 1982, the album delivered ‘Sexual Healing’, his biggest post-Motown hit and one of his signature songs, while pairing supple soul singing with funk, disco and polished contemporary production. The record is closely associated with the modern R&B shift of the period, balancing intimacy, desire and unease in a way that felt both radio-ready and deeply personal. As Gaye’s final studio album released during his lifetime, it stands as one of his most important and commercially successful works.
