About this album
Walk On The Wild Side - The Best Of Lou Reed is a strong introduction to Reed’s early solo peak, distilling the wit, grit and melodic instinct that made him one of rock’s most distinctive voices. Drawn from his mid-1970s work, it brings together defining songs such as Walk On The Wild Side, Sweet Jane and Satellite Of Love, alongside the edgier street narratives and art-rock detours that shaped his reputation. Reed’s solo catalogue blurred the line between glamour and decay, and this compilation shows how he turned deadpan observation into lasting pop drama. It remains a useful snapshot of an artist who helped redefine what rock songwriting could sound like.
