Lou Reed – New Sensations (VG+/VG+) – LP, UK 1984

New Sensations is an LP by Lou Reed from 1984 released on the RCA label.

About this album

New Sensations shows Lou Reed refining his post-Velvet Underground style into sharp, compact pop rock. Released in 1984, the album finds him pairing dry humour and urban character studies with lean melodies and a cleaner, more immediate sound than much of his earlier solo work. The title track and songs such as I Love You, Suzanne helped give the record a more approachable edge without softening Reed’s cool detachment. It reflects a period when he was embracing directness over provocation, making the album one of the more accessible entries in his catalogue while still unmistakably Reed.
