    About this album

The Story Of Star Wars is a compact, family-friendly retelling that turns John Williams’ iconic film music into an accessible audio drama for younger listeners. Performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, the release draws on the same grand orchestral vocabulary that helped define the original 1977 film, giving the story of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and the Rebel Alliance a dramatic sweep. Issued in 1983, it sits within the wave of Star Wars tie-ins that kept the saga alive between the films, using narration, sound effects and orchestral music to translate blockbuster cinema into a listening experience for children.
