Shaka Zulu is the breakthrough album that brought Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s polished isicathamiya to a much wider audience. Produced with Paul Simon’s involvement in the wake of Graceland, the record helped place African vocal music in the international spotlight while preserving its identity and discipline.
