    About this album

The Light Of The Spirit is one of Kitaro’s most compelling late-1980s statements, refining his blend of electronic sound, melodic pop instinct and meditative atmosphere. Released in 1987, the album finds the Japanese composer expanding his signature synthesiser palette into a more dramatic, accessible form, with expansive pieces that balance ritual calm against surging energy. Built around a spiritual, nature-inspired sensibility, it helped strengthen Kitaro’s reputation beyond new age circles and introduced his work to a broader international audience. Its flowing structures and vivid themes make it a key album in his catalogue and a strong example of his crossover appeal.
