    Death And The Flower is a striking statement from Keith Jarrett’s mid-1970s American quartet, balancing free jazz fire with lyrical, gospel-tinged improvisation. Recorded in 1974 and issued in 1975, the album features Jarrett alongside Dewey Redman, Charlie Haden and Paul Motian, a group whose interplay could move from hushed reflection to intense collective release in a single phrase. The title track, along with Prayer and Great Bird, shows Jarrett refining a deeply personal language that drew on jazz tradition while pushing harmonies and form into new territory. It remains one of his most distinctive Blue Note-era albums.
