Created in the mid-1950s and early 1960s, these works combine taped sound, electronics and the human voice in ways that were astonishingly new for their time. Gesang Der Jünglinge, based around the singing voice of a boy soprano, became one of the most celebrated early pieces of musique concrète and electronic composition, while Kontakte pushed further into spatial movement and timbral experiment.
