    About this album

Frontiers is one of Journey’s most successful and polished arena-rock statements, balancing big hooks with emotional directness. Released in 1983, it followed the blockbuster success of Escape and kept the band firmly at the centre of mainstream rock with songs such as “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” and “Faithfully”. Produced with a sleek, radio-ready sheen by Mike Stone and Kevin Elson, the album sharpened Journey’s blend of power balladry, guitar heroics and keyboard-led AOR. Its chart success and long-running popularity helped define the sound of early-80s rock and confirmed Journey as one of the era’s essential crossover bands.
