Issued in 1970, it paired Mayall with an American line-up that included guitarist Harvey Mandel, bassist Larry Taylor and drummer Don “Sugarcane” Harris, giving the record a tougher, more electric edge. The album mixes biting social commentary with road-worn blues and folk-rock touches, from the environmental concern of Nature’s Disappearing to the restless energy of Night Flyer.
