Joe Cocker – Joe Cocker! (VG/VG) – LP, AU 1969

Joe Cocker! is an LP by Joe Cocker from 1969 released on the Festival Records label.

About this album

Joe Cocker! is a powerful debut that turned Joe Cocker into an international name. Released in 1969, the album fused blues rock, pop rock and deep soul feeling, with Cocker’s hoarse, impassioned vocal style at the centre. Its best-known moments include his celebrated take on The Beatles’ Something and the White Album’s She Came In Through the Bathroom Window, alongside Leonard Cohen’s Bird On The Wire and other carefully chosen covers. The record captured the energy of the late-1960s British rock boom while showing Cocker as a distinctive interpreter rather than just a singer of other people’s songs.
