About this album

Open The Doors To Your Heart is a distinctive late-1970s soul-funk fusion album from J.O.B. Orquestra. Issued in 1978, it blends devotional themes with disco-era rhythm, jazz-tinged arrangement and a polished groove that reflects the era’s crossover between sacred message and secular dance music. The album’s mix of soulful vocals, funk propulsion and fusion textures gives it a rare character within the period’s independent and crossover releases. With titles such as the title track, The Soul and Govinda, it stands as an intriguing example of how spiritual music could meet contemporary black popular styles without losing conviction or energy.
