Crash Landing is a controversial posthumous Jimi Hendrix album that still reveals flashes of his blues-rock brilliance. Issued in 1975, it was assembled after his death under producer Alan Douglas, who rebuilt incomplete recordings with newly added session parts, making the record one of the most debated titles in the Hendrix catalogue. Even so, the set captures the guitarist’s molten tone and improvisatory instinct on material such as the title track and Message to Love, alongside reworked versions of earlier ideas. Its uneasy place in his discography has only strengthened its historical interest as a document of legacy, editing and myth.
