A rapper with intensity who is equally a singer with passion and a producer who harnesses nostalgia to master the future, the Jim Legxacy project is well on its way from fabled newcomer to blazing hype flame.
Jim's prolific output, which has an ever-increasing impact on British music in 2025, tells an important story as ever. Always ahead of the curve with his songwriting, he holds up a mirror to British POC, reflecting himself and his peers. In doing so, he stands both proudly and humbly at the forefront of a movement, a new generation of songwriters making their way out of the underground and pushing ever higher. The new mixtape "Black British Music (2025)" creates space for complexity, sensibility and experimentation, changing not only the expectations of what British music can sound like, but also what it can stand for. Music has always been a part of Jim's identity.
His ever-evolving, kaleidoscopic sound has influences from all genres, notably R "n'B, soul, pop, grime, midwest emo, afro beats and alternative. Jim's artistic journey began in 2018 with several singles and two major releases (Dynasty Program: A Metrical Composition Inspired by the Nights Spent as The Raiider; and Citadel) that showcased his artistic growth, versatility, and vulnerability while struggling with homelessness. in 2023, he released his mixtape "Homeless N*gga Pop Music" to critical acclaim. This was followed by support and cosigns from acts such as Dave, Stormzy, Central Cee, Headie One, Skepta, Loski, Jack Harlow and most recently two songs he developed with Fred again.
