Photographs & Memories: His Greatest Hits is an LP by Jim Croce released on the Lifesong label.
About this album
Photographs & Memories gathers Jim Croce’s defining hits into a concise portrait of one of the early 1970s’ most distinctive singer-songwriters. Issued in 1974, shortly after his breakthrough albums, the compilation brings together the songs that made his name: the wry character study of Bad, Bad Leroy Brown, the hushed ache of Time in a Bottle, and the conversational detail of Operator. Croce’s blend of folk, country rock and pop made his songs instantly accessible, while his plainspoken voice and sharp storytelling gave them lasting emotional weight. For listeners wanting the essentials, this set shows why his music remained so widely loved after his untimely death.
