About this album
Too Old To Rock ’N’ Roll: Too Young To Die! is a sharp, satirical Jethro Tull album that turns mid-’70s ageing and rock culture into a sly concept record. Released in 1976, it follows the band’s move deeper into prog while keeping the bluesy grit and folk colour that defined their sound. Ian Anderson’s writing and flute-led arrangements give the songs a theatrical edge, with the title track standing out as a memorable anti-nostalgia statement. Recorded with the group’s usual mix of precision and bite, the album reflects both Tull’s virtuosity and Anderson’s taste for character-driven storytelling.
