Live - Bursting Out shows Jethro Tull at full concert force, turning their ornate blend of prog, folk and hard rock into a lean, high-energy live statement. Issued in 1978, the double album draws on the band’s late-’70s peak and features key material such as A New Day Yesterday, Songs From the Wood, Thick As A Brick and Cross-Eyed Mary. Fronted by Ian Anderson’s theatrical vocals and wiry flute, with Martin Barre’s guitar driving the arrangements, the record captures a band capable of shifting from acoustic colour to muscular attack without losing detail. It remains one of Tull’s most enduring live releases.
