About this album
Faces And Places Vol.11 is a focused Yardbirds compilation that captures the band’s pivotal Jeff Beck period, when blues-rock muscle met psychedelia and studio experimentation. By gathering key sides such as Shapes Of Things, Mr. You’re A Better Man Than I and Jeff’s Blues, it showcases the group’s move from raw R&B roots towards more adventurous late-1960s rock. The set reflects the Yardbirds’ major role in shaping British guitar music, with Beck’s inventive playing helping define the sound that would influence hard rock and psychedelic acts that followed.
