Blow By Blow / Wired brings together two of Jeff Beck’s most celebrated 1970s statements, a pair of albums that helped define jazz-rock fusion on the electric guitar. Blow By Blow, produced by George Martin, paired Beck’s fluid phrasing with instrumental precision and a lighter, more melodic touch, while Wired pushed the energy harder with tighter arrangements and a more urgent edge. Across both records, Beck showed how rock technique, jazz harmony and soulful feel could coexist in the same language. The set remains a key document of his shift from blues-rock hero to one of fusion’s most inventive lead guitarists.
