Mud Slide Slim And The Blue Horizon is an LP by James Taylor from 1971 released on the Warner Bros. Records label.

About this album

Mud Slide Slim And The Blue Horizon is the album that cemented James Taylor as a major voice in early-1970s singer-songwriter rock. Released in 1971, it blends soft rock and country-rock with intimate writing, subtle acoustic arrangements and Taylor’s warm, unforced delivery. The record’s centrepiece is You’ve Got a Friend, one of his best-known songs and a defining statement of peer support and emotional plain-speaking. Helped by strong contemporary attention and Taylor’s growing reputation after Sweet Baby James, the album broadened his audience and reinforced the reflective style that made him a key figure of the era.
