Released in 1976, the album sits firmly in the mid-’70s fusion era, when British and American players were pushing jazz harmony into harder-edged rock structures. Across pieces such as Mr. M’s Picture, Crunch Cake and Attila, the band combines agile musicianship, tight ensemble writing and a restless electric tone that keeps the music moving.
