Gotye's Making Mirrors arrived in 2011 as Wally De Backer's third solo album and the record that pushed his meticulous studio approach onto a global stage. Built from inventive songwriting, unusual samples and a clear affection for left-field pop craft, it went on to win the 2013 Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album, while Somebody That I Used to Know, his duet with Kimbra, took both Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
