Plastic Beach is an LP by Gorillaz from 2019 released on the Parlophone, Warner Records label.
About this album
Plastic Beach is Gorillaz at their most ambitious and conceptually complete. Released in 2010, the band’s third album turns Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s virtual world into a sharply produced blend of art-pop, hip hop, electronic texture and leftfield dance music. Built around a cast of collaborators including Bobby Womack, De La Soul, Lou Reed and Snoop Dogg, it balances vivid hooks with social satire and ecological unease. Singles such as Stylo, On Melancholy Hill and Rhinestone Eyes helped make the record one of the group’s most recognisable statements, extending Gorillaz’s reputation for turning pop into multimedia world-building.
