Gordon Lightfoot – Summertime Dream (VG+/VG+) – LP, AU 1976

Summertime Dream is an LP by Gordon Lightfoot from 1976 released on the Reprise Records label.

About this album

Summertime Dream is one of Gordon Lightfoot’s most acclaimed albums, combining crisp folk-rock arrangements with his gift for narrative detail and melodic understatement. Issued in 1976, it includes The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, the song that became his signature and one of the defining Canadian recordings of the decade. Lightfoot’s writing here balances observation and emotion with unusual economy, whether on the title track or the more reflective album cuts. The record helped confirm his status as a master songwriter who could turn regional stories, personal feeling and acoustic craft into songs with lasting cultural reach.
