Goo Goo Dolls' Dizzy Up the Girl was the Buffalo band's sixth studio album, released in 1998 at the point where their scrappy alternative-rock roots opened out into full-scale late-'90s radio pop. That shift paid off in a big way: the record became their best-known commercial breakthrough, driven by City of Angels soundtrack crossover "Iris," which helped turn the album into a multi-platinum success and brought the song three Grammy nominations.
