    More George Thorogood and the Destroyers is a punchy early statement from one of rock’s most durable blues-boogie outfits. Released in 1980, it finds George Thorogood and his band tightening the formula that made them a live favourite: gritty guitar riffs, muscular rhythms and a rough-edged vocal style rooted in electric blues and hard rock. Arriving after the breakthrough success of their debut, the album helped confirm Thorogood as a specialist in stripped-down, good-time rock ’n’ roll rather than slick studio polish. Its direct, no-frills approach and road-tested sound made it an important part of the band’s rise through the early 1980s.
