Foxtrot is an LP by Genesis from 1972 released on the Charisma label.

About this album

Foxtrot is the album where Genesis sharpened their theatrical ambitions into a prog-rock landmark. Released in 1972, it followed the group’s growing reputation for complex arrangements, shifting time signatures and imaginative storytelling, while Peter Gabriel’s dramatic presence gave the songs an unusual sense of character and drama. Anchored by extended pieces such as Watcher of the Skies and Supper’s Ready, the record balanced technical virtuosity with memorable melodic writing, helping define early 1970s British progressive rock. Its blend of art-rock precision, literary detail and scale has made it one of the era’s most enduring Genesis albums.
