Telekon is an LP by Gary Numan from 2026 released on the Beggars Banquet label.
About this album
Telekon is Gary Numan at his most distinctive, pushing the mechanised pop of his early career into colder, more ambitious territory. Released in 1980, the album followed the breakthrough of The Pleasure Principle and confirmed his importance in the emerging synth-pop and new wave landscape. Built around icy electronics, clipped rhythms and Numan’s detached vocal style, it includes key songs such as This Wreckage and I Dream of Wires, which helped define his bleak, futuristic aesthetic. The record is widely regarded as one of his essential statements, balancing commercial hooks with a sense of alienation that made him a lasting influence on electronic music.
