Gary Numan – I, Assassin (VG+/VG+) – LP, IE 1982

I, Assassin is an LP by Gary Numan from 1982 released on the Beggars Banquet label.

About this album

I, Assassin shows Gary Numan sharpening his post-punk futurism into a sleeker, more electronic sound. Issued in 1982, the album pushed further into synthetic rhythms and stark textures, with Numan’s detached vocals and sci-fi imagery giving the record a cool, uneasy atmosphere. Music For Chameleons became one of its best-known songs, helping underline the album’s blend of pop instinct and mechanical precision. Arriving after his first burst of mainstream success, the record is widely regarded as part of the period in which Numan expanded beyond early hits like Are 'Friends' Electric? into darker, more experimental territory.
