  • "Hardcore Jollies" was the ninth studio album by George Clinton's seminal P-Funk band Funkadelic and their debut on Warner Bros Records.

Released in October 1976 and dedicated to the "guitarists of the world", "Hardcore Jollies" showed that Funkadelic was the hardest black rock band since Jimi Hendrix's Band Of Gypsies (to back this up, Buddy Miles even played on one track). With stunning lead guitarists Michael Hampton and Eddie Hazel, funk god Bootsy Collins on bass, Bernie Worrell's keyboard wizardry and much more, the album was engineered by P-Funk genius George Clinton.

The album reached No. 12 in the US R&B charts and spawned the singles "Comin' Round The Mountain" (US R&B No. 54) and 'Smokey' (US R&B No. 96) as well as a live remake of "Cosmic Slop" from the 1973 album of the same name. This version was recorded during rehearsals for the 1976 P-Funk Earth Tour and includes a vocal introduction that was cut from the 1973 studio recording. Over 45 years after its original release, "Hardcore Jollies" remains one of Funkadelic and George Clinton's finest albums and remains a masterful example of P-Funk's creative genius.
