Free – Tons Of Sobs (VG/VG+) – LP, AU

Tons Of Sobs is an LP by Free released on the Island Records label.

About this album

Tons Of Sobs is a raw, heavy blues-rock statement that announced Free’s arrival in 1969. Recorded at the moment the band were shaping their identity, the set pairs Paul Kossoff’s explosive guitar work with Paul Rodgers’ soulful vocals and a rhythm section that keeps everything taut and urgent. Its mix of original material and hard-driving blues covers shows a young group still finding its feet, yet already capable of real force and conviction. Often overlooked beside Free’s later hits, it remains a key early document of British blues rock and an important step towards the band’s leaner, more celebrated sound.
